Usawa

It is called “Usawa”-in the African Swahili language it means “balance”-and it is the new 70-square-meter mural made with Airlite, our eco-painting that brings color to the Pietralata metro station in Rome.

Aimed at depicting the delicate balance of our lives, characterized by continuous movement, research and self-knowledge, the mural reproduces a dancing body in balance that becomes a creative force. “Just as a dancer or a circus performer seeks balance from the beginning to the end of his performance,” explained the Neapolitan artist Giovanni Anastasia, “so a craftsman, a potter or a farmer are driven by their own creative force. With this artwork, I intend to stimulate the imagination of those who look at it and to enhance important themes such as respect for the land and know-how.”

After the Nuru mural in Borgo Universo in the province of Aquila, Negroni’s project then arrives in the capital to support the urban redevelopment of the neighborhood.

Negroni’s Constellations project in Pietralata was realized under the artistic direction of Yourban 2030 and in coordination with Atac Roma.
