The life of Garbatella is beautifully depicted by Maria Ginzburg’s artwork: a patchwork of colors and shapes that tell us the fascination of this district and their people.
In the artist’s words:
“I wanted to create a pattern that was representative of the historical and artistic context of Garbatella, but at the same time it had to be a work that respected social interaction. So the technical choice was an abstract pattern that was easy to visualise but also gave the possibility of further investigation to those interested in discovering the characters and details that populate the district in an imaginary way, living it and giving it that extra something, with its monuments and artistic views”.
Thanks to Airlite technology, this mural will clean the air outside metro Garbatella for years. This unusual vision of the neighbourhood offered to visitors and tourists, with its 36 square metres, will eliminate (transforming them into inert salts) about 5.54 g of NOx/day, like 36 square metres of forest, which means eliminating the smog of about 7.7 Euro 6 petrol cars a day.
A live preview of the mural, along with other urban requalification examples in our capital, was shown on February 26th at Linea Verde Life (Rai1), at 12:20 CET.
